This is a piezoresistive force sensor from Tekscan. The harder you press, the lower the sensor’s resistance. Pressing hard, the resistance changes from infinite to ~50k. The sensor itself is thin and flexible, but the resistance does not change while being flexed.

It can be used in various applications, such as weight sensor, presence sensor (if there is an object on it) and many more. It is also flexible and its strength does not change in bending, thus offering a high degree of accuracy. Resistance decreases when pressure is applied to the circular area.
The total length is about 2.25 inches and the connector is perfect for breadboard (0.1 inch spacing).
