Necesita o instalare initiala mai de durata. Desi il vede la portul USB din prima, si il instaleaza, totusi, abia dupa doua-trei tentative esuate de scriere a unui program, Arduino IDE semnalizeaza ca trebuie un update pentru placi DUE. Cel mai bun indicator ca placa s-a instalat bine este ca apare la port pe langa numarul portului si textul corespunzator (Arduino Due Programming sau Native Port). Portul de programare recomandat a fi folosit este cel de langa mufa de alimentare DC. A doua mufa micro USB se pare ca este de tip OTG.
