The Raspberry Pi 3 development board is based on the new SoC BCM2837, which features a 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit quad core processor capable of running at 1.2 GHz. Combining a 33% increase in frequency with a variety of architectural improvements, Raspberry Pi 3 has a 50-60% higher performance in 32-bit mode than Raspberry Pi 2 and about 10 times more the initial model of Raspberry Pi.
Compared to earlier versions, Raspberry Pi 3 features integrated WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity provided by the BCM43438 chip.
All connectors are in the same place and have the same functionality, and the board can be powered with 5 V via the micro USB connector. This time we recommend a 2 A or 2.5 A power supply if you want to connect high-volume peripherals to USB.
Raspberry Pi 3 features a VideoCore IV 3D GPU running at 400 MHz, a significantly higher frequency than previous generations.
